“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” John 1:1.

Jesus. “The Word” becoming flesh and incarnated as man for the purpose of a cross and resurrection, as well as our redemption. Verses 3 and 4 of the 17th chapter of John are the reason for it all; Jesus praying to the Father, “that they know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent”.

In the busyness of this season, “be still and know that He is God”. During the shopping and spending, “be still and know that He is God”. In the midst of the consumerism and hype, “be still and know that He is God”.

The God who loves so much He gave His only begotten son wants us to know Him. Right now could you realize anew the mystery and the passion of the Christmas story. Could you once more ponder the wonder of the pure love that prompted a holy God to reach out his hand to us. Could the immensity of the truth sink into your hearts with renewed clarity that the almighty God of creation desires to “Tabernacle” in you.

May God bless you and your family this Christmas just as he did for all of us so long ago in a Bethlehem stable.
